Meet Ray Taylor
Raymond “Ray” Taylor is a passionate director dedicated to telling authentic, engaging stories that normalize the LGBTQ+ and disabled communities without centering around trauma. With a career driven by creativity and a commitment to representation, Ray creates character-driven narratives that reflect the richness and diversity of real life.
Since entering the film industry in 2017, Ray has directed 19 short films, many of which have been showcased at events like the Warner Bros. DiversAbilities Film Showcase and the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge. A summa cum laude graduate of the Los Angeles Film School, Ray was also a recipient of the Lisa Kaye Greenlight Jobs Scholarship upon completing the Academy Gold Rising program. Through this program, Ray developed invaluable industry connections and continues to build on them as he navigates the entertainment world.
Ray is currently focused on developing his first feature film while continuing to bring his unique voice to the screen through both short films and industry projects. His experience includes working on national commercials and TV shows like Criminal Minds, as well as serving as a press guide lead at the 97th Academy Awards, overseeing the official press area and coordinating with top-tier professionals in the industry.
When he’s not on set, Ray enjoys kayaking, hiking, building Lego sets, and spending time with his wife and their dog. Through his work, Ray continues to pursue his ultimate goal: creating movies that resonate, inspire, and reflect the beautifully diverse world we live in.
